I am having a bad time with my Speed sensor. Apart of the issue where the Garmin Varia gets disconnected a few times during a ride. Since 17.29 my Speed sensor gets disconnected and it won't auto-reconnect anymore. The only two workarounds that I found was to Disable/Enable the Sensor while riding (imagine I did that on a downhill at 50km/h), and/or remove / re-add the speed sensor.
The issue happens either when the device comes from Sleep mode, or from a complete Shutdown (after pushing the Power button 10 seconds).
Why is this so bad? Because when the Speed sensor is disconnected the Activity gets Paused automatically no matter if you're climbing or on a downhill riding at 60km/h. 50% of the times I triggered the issue after a +600w sprint (normally 800 to 1200w), nonetheless it also happens when I am not doing any power (downhill).
I changed batteries of all sensors but despite I could live with the other disconnections before, now I can't even ride because my activity gets paused several times.
Is it just me? Or anyone else is having the same issue with Edge 1040?
My speed sensor never failed before 16.8 when the sensor issue started, it is a Giant sensor (that came with my brand new Bike) which worked fine when I had a Edge 830 that I sold to purchase my 1040 :( , then it worked just fine since July 2022 until February/march 2023, but not is worse than ever.
