Roundabouts, roundabouts, roundabouts. Not one of them is Magic.

When I follow a route on my 1040 the map shows me which way to go round roundabouts. All very good.

But the little banner on top of the screen always tells me to go the "wrong" way round. What should be 1st exit becomes 3rd and vice versa.

It appears that the top banner is set for Right Hand drive whereas we in this country drive on the left. Other junctions are not a problem just roundabouts and it is pretty confusing, if not dangerous to be given directions that are contrary to the correct ones.

I must have the right maps loaded because the on screen map displays properly.

Presumably the unit is set up for our American friends but there must be an option somewhere deep in the innards to change this. I can't find one so does anyone know how to alter this banner?

  • Ok I can say for sure but with latest firmware and maps I could swear a traditional roundabout was ok. But anything that’s like a roundabout but not quite - i.e. one of those triangular types that are still technically a roundabout, it gets it wrong.

I can’t be 100% but on two recent navigation rides I didn’t notice anything wrong on nomal (round) roundabouts but it was totally confusing on other shapes.

  • FWIW, I'm in the UK, am using 2022.11 / 17.29 and am definitely not seeing this problem - both the banner and the map itself display correctly. I thought this was the case, but hadn't had many opportuinities to check, but today navigated round multiple roundabouts using a route created in Connect. This worked perfectly on first, second and third exits.
