bug altimeter, navigation and trace recording

Hello,

Yesterday with a friend we went cycling, the sky was cloudy with light rain at times.

I have the edge 1040s and my friend the edge 530.

I encountered with the 1040s a similar problem with version 17.24 a few days ago, the weather conditions were similar and the bug occurs in the same circumstances, at the high point of the output.
In the meantime, the edge 1040s has been upgraded to version 17.26.
During the climb there is no problem everything works correctly.
But arrived at the highest point of the exit to begin the descent, I note that the altimeter is blocked during the descent, in the end the exit is about 1700m of positive elevation for 700m of negative elevation.
Added to this, a completely erratic gps precision of the edge 1040s, the tracking arrow is no longer on the route and the road at all, there is a lag in the recording of the route until the end of the journey.
Several times I tried to stop the navigation, the only choice that the edge 1040s offered me was to pause the navigation, but pressing the touch button, it did not validate the navigation pause, it remained on the same display, so I continued the route like this with an inconsistent slope for climbpro and a very slow gps to go from one page to another.

What is very curious, my friend who has the edge 530, a much less expensive gps than the 1040s, had no problem with the layout, it remained precise for the guidance but it had at the same time as the 1040s the same problem on the elevation, at the end of the bike ride, the 2 edge 530 and 1040s, had approximately the same elevation gain and the same bug on the downward elevation.

Having the same bug at the same time on the drop, while the 530 has no barometric altimeter, and the 1040s also falling off the track at this time seems very curious to me.

Does anyone have an explanation for this?
