Device restarts when trying to wake from sleep only on ride home

I commute to work. I wake my 1040 in the morning with a single press of the power button and enjoy my ride into work. At work, I press the power button once to have my garmin sleep. When I get ready for my evening ride home, I single press the power button and my 1040 screen starts to load then turns off. I press the power button again and it wakes/starts as expected. This happens every time in this order since the 16.xx update. Not a deal breaker, just annoying. 17.xx update did not fix this. Pre-16.xx this did not happen. I hope this helps.

This is not a fix of that issue, but FWIW, I did similar, but powered the unit off rather than put it to sleep. If I don't save the ride at power off, I can resume recorded after powering back on for the ride home.

Thank you. I appreciate the time you took to respond. I'll get in that habit. Still an annoying issue, but at least I'll avoid the unit crashing every time I commute. All those crashes can't be good on the device based on my experience with PCs and similar.
