1040 edge will not connect to my Galaxy S21

I can't get my Edge 1040 to connect to my Galaxy S21 phone. It worked all last summer. Any ideas?

you probably have to go into the s21 and delete the old bt pairing for the watch. also it's possible the permissions got borked so resetting the bt for the watch by completely deleting garmin connect from the phone is a good idea anyway
