Reading text messages on the Edge 1040 Solar

Hey all,

I recently got a 1040 Solar and have found that I have some issues with the SMS feature compared to my Edge 1030.

When I get a text message that may be more than a short 5 word question, or need to read more than what shows up, I cannot easily get to the message like I could on my 1030. On the 1030, I tapped the 3 dots between the X and Send button and it brought up the full (of what it could before scrolling) message. How can you do that on the 1040 Solar?

When you do get to the send part, there is no way to back out if you decide not to reply. You MUST tap a reply then cancel the reply before it sends the message.

Has anyone else noticed this, or been able to find a way to read an SMS message or back out of the replys easily without sending one?

    You are correct on all points. FWIW, I find the 1040 inferior to the 1030 with regard to handling notifications. HOWEVER, I have Di2 (and don't know how I ever lived without it). By issuing a command to change screen via a D-Fly "command", the display will respond accordingly and abort any menu screen you may have displayed.

    I have been able to see the message once in a while by pressing and holding on the message, but it is not every time.
