Edge 1040 does not show map

My Edge 1040 does not show the map when I navigate. Or to be more correct. It only shows the big major roads. 

All maps are active.

I most have some setting that is not correct

    It sounds like it may only be using the base map.

    Under the profile you are using go to navigation -> map -> map information and check that you have cycling map for the region you are in, and that it is enabled.

    If you do then you may need to look at the map appearance settings.
