Hi everyone.
I normally plot my routes on Strava and sometimes RWGPS. I then have them auto-sync to my Garmin Connect account and then onward to my Edge 1040.
I have always used Turn Guidance on the Edge which generates the turn-by turn cues. No problem here.
I have recently decided to toggle off the Turn Guidance so as just to follow the chevronned route and rely on the Distance to Next data field to count down until the next turn.
On my map page I have set 2 data fields: The first is Distance to Next and the second one is Distance to Destination.
The Distance to Destination works as expected, counting down the distance as I cycle. The Distance to Next though is confusing me as it also shows the same data as in the Distance to Destination field. I had assumed that Distance to next would count down until my next turn cue and then update with the next turn distance.
Am I right in thinking that when I turn off the Edge’s Turn Guidance that an imported route will not have the turn cues displayed in the Distance to Next field?
