1040 Solar incessant audio prompt "Stop. Full stop."

The weather was finally decent enough for me to do my first ride since the last Garmin software update. I have audio prompts turned on in the Connect app. I was riding a course, and for the full hour and eleven-minute ride, Connect kept repeating, "Stop. Full stop. Full stop. Full stop. Stop. Stop." I was riding a route, but the route and directions on the head unit were correct, so I have no idea where to start researching the problem or why it kept telling me to stop.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

  • I may have solved this, but I don't understand the behavior and how it happened in the first place.

    On the ride, I had a map with my course displayed with no problem, but I wasn't getting any navigation prompts or anything. I went into the ride profile and checked my map settings. I ride in Europe and the US, so I have those selected and all others disabled. But since the last update, I have not been on an outdoor ride with my 1040. I checked the maps, and US and EU maps were disabled, and Africa, AUS & NZ, were enabled. So everything I had enabled before the update became disabled, and everything that had been disabled was enabled. I suspect this will solve the problem.
