Widgets displayed in "Night" colors

On my Edge 1040 Solar the widgets are stuck in "Dark Mode" even when I manually set System -> Display -> Color Mode to "Day".

Are you talking about the widget control loop? That is dark by design.

Quite difficult to read, especially on this type of display, but I take it as it is. My sight started to decline for many years, so I have to wear quite strong glasses.
