I road Mid South today, 100 miler and it took about 7hrs to complete.
At some point, as the 1040 would indicate a turn and I made the turn, at the bottom of the 1040 I would get a temporary ‘warning’ image in red. Also I've got Gravel in blue, and i think my borders charged to light red temporarily to match. These temporary changes were only present for about 1-2seconds and I was not able to engage them with the touchscreen. they were showing up just about after every turn. I was following a course /directions and I did not have Varia on/connected.
Post ride and I'm not finding anything on the Garmin, or in the app that would indicate what these warnings were about.
It may be an easy answer, though online was not helpful IMO
