Edge 1040 restarts after setting a power target during workouts

Whenever I follow a Garmin workout on my Edge 1040 linked to my Kickr Core in ERG mode and trying to set a power target, Edge just restarts immediately. I can change trainer resistance or grade, but with any attempts to change power target, it just reboots itself.

This is very annoying as I can easily change the power target during workouts from my Fenix 7 without any issues.

I hope this can be addressed and fixed with a patch, next update.

Hello G.Tomas, Do you have a video of this happening? Have you had the Edge forget the trainer completely and re-pair as new?

Former Member I have tried forgetting the trainer completely and pairing it up again but the problem still persists. I have recorded the video for you to see this problem.

This happens with my Saris h3 and explore 2. I’ll be in a suggested workout, when I increase resistance, the edge reboots. The weird thing is, the workout timer didn’t stop it was still running. It’s as if nothing happened. It’s on ver 8.06 it never did it before. I believe this started happening after the update.

I want to clarify something before you go wasting your time. On my fenix 7 I’m running a suggested workout. I press the start button on my explore 2, so on my explore 2 it’s just a workout. A few days ago I bought the 1040 solar. I have both in case you want me to run some scenarios. I have logged one (suggested) workout on the 1040 and I didn’t have to mess with resistance.
