Information on the phrases of the Grouptrack function.

When I send the message "I'm coming" (from my 1040 in Italian -> Sto arrivando) does my friend who uses the 1040 in German receive "I'm coming" in German (=ich komme) or italian (=Sto arrivando) ?

obviously it concerns the whole edge series (530 830 1030)

thanks

  • I've not tested it, but I would assume it is in the language that the receiving Edge is set to. What is being passed is just a message code that gets looked up by the Edge displaying the message.

  • Hi, thank you for the reply. I think the same thing too! But I would like confirmation from a Garmin employee. Very strange that they don't answer my simple question. If they don't know the answer, they should change jobs. I need to know precisely because some German friends have to arrive and I'll have them activate group track if they receive messages in their mother tongue.
