Okay, I had to send out for a replacement Edge 1040 recently, and since hooking it up, transferring my profile over, and all that cool stuff, I have one minor, but annoying problem. The Edge remote works fine, except that the Start/Stop button doesn't work at all. The page and lap buttons are fine. To do my due diligence, I booted up my old Edge 1000 and the remote has no problem starting/stopping a ride.
Now here's the weird thing! I seem to have a distant recollection that when I purchased the 1040 waaaay back in June or July, that I had to do something in the settings, either of the 1040 itself or Garmin Connect on my phone, to make the remote work properly, but it escapes me now what I did or if this was even the same thing as I experienced back then.
TL;DR - how do I get my ride start/stop button to work on the remote so I don't have to keep manually pressing the button on the 1040?
