MTB Trail Navigation fails every time

This is a new 1040, I have already formatted it twice as it seems a bit buggy in general, initially. Currently though when I try to use MTB Trail Navigation, any filter setting or location, it just spins on Calculating Route 2 for a while, and then tells me it failed. This is the built in one, no IQ app, and I have updated the maps to the latest on Express.

Any ideas here? Cheers.

For me is only working with the default MTB profile but If you make some change in profile, it stops working.

Support issue is escalated to engineering --> forums.garmin.com/.../mtb-trail-navigation-finds-no-results

Same for me, although I've never got it to work even with the default MTB profile.

I formatted my unit and started with no prior data sync, tried the MTB profile and it is the same issue, processing route 2, ..., calculation failed. Just a bug for now I suppose. For some users.

Has this been fixed? I'm considering the 1040S for MTB, specifically for the bigger screen (I have the 830) for navigation.

It still has the same bug on my 1040 with 17.29 software

I think I've found the culprit. When selecting actual trail networks, it seems to work and provide 3 alternative routes, based on the parameters you provided. However, there are numerous trails mentioned as trail networks in the list that aren't a network, but a single trail. It then gets stuck calculating route 2, because there is no alternative route. It should stop calculating after the first route, but somehow it doesn't understand that and gets stuck. It also seems to get stuck when there are only 2 trails in the network.
