Birdseye maps on Edge 1040

I used Garmin Birdeye satellite imaging on my Edge 1030 and have recently purchased at Edge 1040.

It seems that Birdeye is now discontinued.

Is there an alternative to Birdeye?

Google searches indicate Birdeye is the only possibility for large satellite images.

At the moment the only option is convert jnx (Birdseye maps) files to img files.

Thank you for the info. Do you know if there is a good way to do this.

I have searched google and it appears to require multiple apps.

It's not easy but doable and works fine in 1040. Look here Converting JNX to raster IMG (gpspower.net)

You are a legend Tomek. This is exactly what I was looking for. I had gone down the path of KML and found they were very limited.

Its people like you that make these forums useful.

Thanks again. It did take a while to track down the older software required. Yet well worth it. The quality and image size are comparable to JNX. The conversion is simple and quick once setup.

This solves the issue with Birdseye being discontinued.
