Has anybody had a similar issue.... I bought a 1040 in December and on my first ride with it I thought a bolt was loose on my bike or a cable somewhere was rattling, took the 1040 off and it turns out it is the actual 1040 unit.
Battery cover is secure, tether is held and when you shake it the unit rattles pretty loudly.
Contacted Garmin Aus and they said they had never heard of this and were going to do a replacement and send off to engineers. Given it was TDU time I opted to get a refund and replace the unit so I would have something to use.
The second unit arrives, and I kid you not, this unit has the exact same rattle....
Please note that this is not in any mounts and you can hear the rattle when shaking it in your hand.
I am a bit lost with what to do, but has anyone had this issue? I cant find anyhting online...
