A switch to not display the navigation screen

A switch to not display the navigation screen.

I can have the route of an annual race with the same route from year to year, or be on a known route, or that the route is signposted, so I do not need navigation, but I wish to have the power guide, unfortunately every 20 meters the 1040 leaves the power guide display to switch to the navigation screen and I have to constantly turn it off.

  • Set Turn Guidance (TBT) to Off. The device will not navigate and thus will not generate navigation hints which cause the forced switch to the navigation screen. You don't need TBT guidance because you can dream the route you are riding.

  • you can also set the prompts for navigation to "text only" when you decide you need TBT info. This way you would get only text notification about the  next turn, without seeing also the map.

  • unfortunately every 20 meters the 1040 leaves the power guide display to switch to the navigation screen

Why does it do this, do you have “auto scroll” enabled, does it display other screens in sequence? I have no experience with “power guide” but can’t see any reason it would switch between that screen & the map. If auto scroll is enabled just turn it off, it is in each profile under auto features or similar subsection

  • Auto scroll is off, It does this to show the next change in direction
