Will we see better integration between Tacx app and Garmin edge devices/Garmin connect?

Now that Garmin owns Tacx, I am wondering if we will start to see better integration between the Tacx App and the Garmin devices?

For example: If I record a ride on my Garmin edge 1040, while using the Tacx app to follow a movie/workout, the elevation data will be missing from the ride. If I record from the Tacx app, the elevation data will be there, but the cycling dynamics, stamina, and respiratory rate are missing.

The only "solution" is to dual record the activity using both the App and Garmin device, but then we have duplicate entries in our activity logs, which again is problematic in its own way.

Why can’t the Tacx app do/record everything the Garmin Edge device can, the computers that the Tacx app runs on are far more powerful than whatever is onboard the Garmin devices. Does Garmin plan on adding all the features of the devices into the Tacx App over time? The other acceptable solution would be to find a way for the Tacx app to stream/send the elevation and speed data to the Garmin Edge device. There should be better integration.

    The acquisition was Feb 2019, almost 4 years, plenty of time to do some integration, if not done by now then probably never? Is it a pathway to greater revenue, if not then don’t count on it.

    I would like to see the Garmin edge devices use a similar simulation algorithm to the Tacx training app for GPS based rides but not expecting it to happen

    I guess one can always hope, but yes it has already been quite a while since the acquisition. In an optimistic note, they did add in training status and training load recently to the recorded data from the Tacx app (as well as for Trainer Road and Zwift). And as of very recently, I also noticed the Training Effects showing up in the post ride data. So hopefully the trickle of new features and integration to the Tacx app continues.

    Garmin and TACX are hardware companies...I am not so sure we will see anything useful in the software realm...In any case, EDGE has some small tweaks for the NEO BIKE/TRAINER...you can disable/enable the road simulation...The other thing you are missing while recording on the EDGE is distance....

    Well, they updated the Tacx training app icon to look similar to the Garmin Connect app recently.  Baby steps....

    Garmin/Tacx HW companies.Well, I wonder why from feature point of view they missed one point then on the updated Neo Bike, Wifi (which wahoo did introduce lately). Its so easy to kill the Bt/Ant communication with some Wifi burst. I think this would make life easier for some home equipment (PC, Mobile) running a Trainer SW.
