VO2Max stuck since November 19th

Hello.

Looking at the reports I see that since November 19th that VO2Max value doesn't change not even by 1 unit. I had the same issue with my previous Edge 1030 which was solved by an update. When I bought the current 1040 I had changes on the value depending on my weekly training, but now it just stopped being updated for a long time.

Can you guys Garmin Forums solve this issue again ?!

Thanks in advance

  • This happened to me, no VO2Max updates since October when I stopped syncing my old 1030.  I think it has to do with the fact that I don't have Power Meter Pedals, but I never have.  I wish there was a way to estimate this so I would at least have something.

  • I do have a Power Meter (Stages) for a long time, so it should be shown like it always have been. It worked in the past, stopped working with the 1030, then worked again in the 1030. Bought the 1040, it was working, then stopped again from November.
The value is shown but it doesn't change and this was highly affected by the type of workouts and condition.

  • I have a Fenix 7 + Edge 1040 a few things have not updated since that date on both. Guess something or someone went on an early Christmas break. Hopefully it’s sorted in in the New Year

  • Yep as suspected in my post 2 days ago it suddenly started updating today on both devices.

  • I took a fast walk yesterday with my Venu 2 Plus watch and got my first VO2Max reading since October.  I wish I could understand how I can ride 120 miles (or more) with a chest strap in Threshold and above and get no VO2Max reading.  I like Garmin, but it sure seems like it is so that they can sell their pedals.

  • Still no changes on my Edge 1040, so I assume it's not because of Xmas holidays or a server issue. I'm still suspecting on the firmware version

  • Hello, please ensure the following are met:

    • The Bike activity must be 20 minutes or longer without stopping.

    • Heart rate data must be recorded (from either a built-in optical heart rate sensor or from a chest strap).

    • Your heart rate must be elevated to at least 70% of your maximum heart rate for at least 20 minutes continuously.

    • A power meter is required.

Most often I see the highlighted requirement is not met, please make sure your heart rate zones are correct and that your max heart rate is correct.

  • Thank you for your feedback, but how many activities do you want me to present to you that met all those requirements, since that date?
Maximum HR I have is 183bpm, so 70% would be 128bpm...just checking my activities is enough to find averages a lot higher and for sure above that over 20 minutes.

  • My VO2max is suspiciously stuck since I replaced 1030 for 1040 (end of august 2022), although I still train as hard as before. My VO2max was changing constantly and reflected my performance well on 1030 (till august 2022). On the 1040 VO2max stuck on 55 no matter my training and performance was since september 5th till november 14th. Then it dropped to 53 and stayed for 1 month, then it dropped to 52 and is there for more than 1month. I guarantee that my performance and training is not impaired anyhow.
