Lock on road and popularity map

Today the device insists on locating my posistion in the nearest road despite Lock on road = disabled

As I could fix some bugs reseting 1040 and creating profiles from scratch instead of importing them, I tried to do the same, but now I have two bugs: popularity map missing and lock on road nstill does not work (In fact I'm suffering many more bugs)

    The funny thing is that Lock on road - disabled works only in road profile. No one here explained why it is that. Work around is to make your own activity profile in such a way that you use road pattern. Then clone this profile to whatever you want eg. MTB,Gravel, etc.

    The question is... Why this is not documented in user manual? They want us to go crazy trying out the thousands of configuration combinations.

    Its possible that I used that as a basis for creating my own profile.

    BTW, not much testing, but I thing popularity map works only with Garmin default OSM map in Classic view

    it is not documented because it is a bug (not feature) and there are tens of known bugs like this reported within Garmin beta program but Garmin does not react.Why ? I do not know. They prefer to implement new features instead of correcting reported bugs. Users are willing to help and they are reporting and documenting bugs again and again but nobody bother to answer at least. That the Garmin.
