Cycle Map Europe update?

I and others have asked this same question. I'm not holding my breath. I'm fortunate to own a Karoo 2 so if I need to ride a route I'm not familiar with, I take that head unit.

you can download maps from https://www.openfietsmap.nl/. These are in Openstreetmap format and can be used on the Garmin. I download the Netherlands map twice a year

Yeah I know you can download a lot of openstreetmap based maps, but I just find it strange that Garmin has stopped the bi-yearly update cycle. And also that the EU maps lag behind the other continent maps (2022.10 vs 2021.20).

True. We pay a lot for these Garmin devices, so I expect a map update twice a year.

Agree, I didn't buy that expensive garmin device to use old maps! 

I also tried the Karoo 2, it’s a great device, especially since the support for Varia Radar and Smart Lights. But I couldn’t get used to the smaller screen so that’s why I kept the Edge.

True,  but the screen is sharper and brighter than the Garmin. The downside is that mine consumes battery power pretty quickly. I'd hate to see the battery life if I had a cellular card in it to enable the live track feature. The upside is the software is not as buggy as Garmin.

I asked Garmin NL support and they replied that a new map update is expected in February 2023.
