how to get rid of the pause icon when at pause (or traffic light)

I agree that having the pause bars on the screen all the time when I'm clearly stopped is overkill.  Previous Edge models showed the pause bars for a few seconds, then erased them.  I certainly don't see this change as an improvement.

It's a pain isn't it. I already brought this up in the community discussion, but it hasn't been captured in any of the (beta) releases so far.

I also find this annoying, after I just upgraded from a 1030. 

Garmin, please make this work like it does on the 1030. Pause icon just briefly, and don't dim the screen. at all. Who thought that is even a good idea. Terrible decsion from the UX team.

absolutely agree. What should be the message to display the pause icon when pausing? Verification if all wheels stop? Garmin, please display a small icon at the edge and release us from this redundant overkill.

So far nothing happened concerning getting rid of this awful icon.

With the latest update it is still there, at least at my 1040 SOLAR.

Anyone who know how to solve this issue for deleting the 'Pause-icon' or do we all need to wait untill Garmin....

Is turning off auto pause not an option?

That's not the issue. I don't want to disable auto-pause. I want it on to keep using it. What I don't want is for the screen to dim with a giant icon on it. Often when I come to a stop I want to look down and review my screens. 

If they just make it work like it does on the 1030 and 530 series it will be perfect.

It's also annoying when you stop to look at the map. Not only does the pause icon overlay the screen, but the screen also dims. This is a bad feature. Please set as on the Edge 1030.
