Cant change device setting in Connect desktop

I am not able to get my 1040 Solar to allow device setting changes on Garmin Connect desktop version. On all my other Garmin devices I am able to view and change the device settings using the browser version of Connect but on the 1040 there is just an icon that directs me to the Connect app. I am on a Macbook Pro 2021 and the device is recognized and updates in Express. It is also saying  "no  solar date available:  next to device setting in the Connect desktop version.

Any ideas or is the only way to change device setting on the Connect app via iphone app? Thanks in advance
