Route Calculation Error at 75% (unable to navigate with Address Search)

The same happens to me.
The 1030+ calculated the route to the destination, although many times the itineraries were very illogical. The 1040 is unable to calculate a route to a point that is more than 50 km away.
Edge devices are browsers, but they don't show that they are.

This was a bug-bear on the 1000 and I assumed Garmin would have fixed this on the 8 year later 1040, however they have not. I have had this several times. Cancelling the message only brings it back in a loop until it finally goes away. Sometimes the route will continue again, sometimes not.

This for me was not based on distance, but going off-course, once by only 50M. Garmin has a big problem re-calculating a route at times.

Hi I had this on the 1030+ so far ok on the 1040 it was with routes that were already on the device and always after a F/W upgrade some routes worked others didn't . I found the only solution was to delete the route from the device and reload from original source. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue with the 1040 from the beginning with several firmware versions. After the last map update two days ago the device was unusable due to a infinite boot loop. I performed a full reset of the device (loosing all data on the device, but the most can be recovered by syncing it with Garmin Express after the setup). After this full reset the device works again and also the routing is working now for higher distances. I tried it for the same route again (around 640 km) and now it calculates the route.

It takes several minutes and at the end the screen seems to be frozen for a few seconds but it's calculated correctly and the navigation starts.
