I rode my bike in the dark. Unfortunately, the display does not automatically light up when there are turn-by-turn instructions (navigation of a route). The Garmin Edge 1040 beeps as usual when there is a turn-by-turn instruction, but unfortunately you cannot see anything on the display because it remains dark. I would have expected the display to automatically light up when there are turn-by-turn instructions and then go dark again after x seconds, depending on the setting. Can you configure that somewhere? At the moment I type when the Edge beeps briefly on the display so that it gets bright and I can see something. The only solution is to permanently activate the backlight (display lighting remains on).
