Does the 1040 support smart trainers in BT mode?

Does it just seem to me, looking at the content of the manual, that it only supports trainers in ANT + mode?
When I try to pair it with the Saris H3 trainer in BT mode, the trainer is not detected at all (neither in the trainers section, nor in the all devices section).
Only the power from Saris H # is detected, but basically only by the MAC address and in fact ... it cannot be read while active.

The same trainer pairs and works when using the ANT + protocol. But there are drops during activity, so I wanted to test the BT protocol.

Who does the smart trainer for ANT + with 1040 (S) work?

I experience the same with my Saris H2. Any answer from Garmin?

I did not open a ticket to Garmin support.

I am 99.9999% sure that the E1040 can only control the trainer in the ANT+ standard.

The BT/BLE does not support.

Compatible Edge devices that can control smart trainers will only do so through ANT+ FE-C. See Controlling a Smart Bike Trainer With a Garmin Device for more details.

You may be able to pair the trainer as a power or cadence sensor in the sensor menu via BLE, but cannot guarantee this and it is still preferred to pair sensors via ANT+ when possible.

Thank you. I do have an issue using Ant+FE to connect to my Saris H2, as it does not control the trainer in workout mode. ZONE 1 5min; Z2 2min; Z3 1min...etc

I can alter the resistance setting and it does change the trainer resistance, however changing the power setting using both + or - has no effect only at large values and then only for a brief omens before reverting to freewheel...

I have " Delete Data and Reset Settings" and it is now controlling the trainer.

I assume migration from 820 to 1040 introduced a fault in the trainer control algorithm. After the reset, I installed the trainer as an Ant+ FE-C smart trainer.
