[Solution] Using English language with accented keyboard (Portuguese, German, Spanish, etc...)

IMPORTANT: Before proceeding with operations below, always take a full backup of your Garmin Edge 1040 device 

IMPORTANTE: Antes de proceder com as operações abaixo, sempre tire um backiup completo de todos os diretórios do Garmin Edge 1040.

Problem description / Descrição do problema:

• When trying to find some street names / cities / neighborhood or POIs, Garmin Edge does not find it because their names contains accents (tilde, acute, etc...)
• Label translation to Brazilian Portuguese is terrible.
• Ao tentar encontrar nomes de ruas / cidades / bairros ou Pontos de Interesse, o Garmin Edge não encontra porque os nomes contém acentos (til, agudo, crase, etc...)
• Tradução dos rótulos para Português Brazil é muito ruim.

Solution / Solução:

1. Using English language on labels and having international accents is not possible originally, but there is a workaround that may help.
2. English language is "hardcoded" into Garmin Edge system, if it does not find the respective text translation file, all labels are displayed in English.
3. Solution: Connecting your Edge 1040 to a computer, you will see folder "Text" inside "Garmin" folder. There you wiil find the translation files (bad translation by the way)
4. Simply rename the respective language file (example: "brazilia.ln4" to "brazilia_original.ln4") you would like the keyboard accents to be active (e.g. Portuguese)
5. Set Garmin to use language you renamed the translation file in step 4 (e.g.: Portuguese)
6. Garmin Edge will not find the texts and everything will be in English while keyboard will have corresponding accents.

1. Usar linguagem Inglês nos rótulos e ao mesmo tempo ter acentos internacionais não é possível originalmente, mas há uma forma que pode ajudar.
2. Linguagem inglês está dentro do próprio sistema do Garmin Edge, se ele não encontra o arquivo de tradução de texto, todos os rótulos ficam em inglês.
3. Solução: Connecte o Edge 1040 no computador, você verá uma pasta "Text" dentro da pasta "Garmin". É lá que ficam os arquivos de tradução (péssima tradução aliás)
4. Simplesmente renomeie o arquivo de linguagem respectiva (exemplo: "brazilia.ln4" para "brazilia_original.ln4") em que gostaria que tivesse os acentos disponíveis no teclado (exemplo: Português Brasil)
5. Ajuste a linguagem do Garmin na qual o arquivo foi renomeado no passo 4 (exemplo: Português)
6. O Garmin Edge não encontrará os textos e tudo ficará em Inglês, porém o teclado ainda terá os acentos disponíveis

Reverting the solution back to original / Revertendo a solução de volta ao original:

1. Simply rename the file back to original name
2. Attaching the list of original file names, in case you have forgotten.
