How to import a daily suggested workout from Epix 2 to my Edge 1040?

Anyway to import your daily suggested workout from my Epix watch to my Edge 1040?  I thought this was all suppose to be a seamless integration but I have learned it is not.  I would like to use what my watch spits out workout wise since I wear the watch 24/7 and feel it gives a better representation of how my body is recovering.

For example.  Thursday both my watch and Edge suggested a Threshold session.  I could not ride on Thursday due to work commitments and weather.  Friday I woke up and my watch had adjusted to my off day and suggested Anaerobic interval session.  But my Edge was stuck on the Threshold session.  Now today my watch and Edge both suggested base workouts but my watch suggested a 2 hour ride while my Edge suggested a 1:40 ride.

Physio TrueUp is on (both devices)

Both devices will pair and sync to the phone app (Samsung S22 Ultra)

Edge is on 14.2

Epix 2 is on 9.33

Garmin phone app up to date

Maybe I am wrong but doesn't Garmin advertise this to all sync and adjust together?  I am not very impressed so far.  Seems like it was just a marketing gimmick to get you to buy more products.  Egg on my face looks like it work on me Disappointed

  • No. There is no way to import it. The training suggestions are created on the device and do not sync.

  • So I was mistaken about them working together then?  So what's the point of wearing the watch all day then I guess.

  • The watch does capture more of your body information and can also record your bike workouts when you do the suggested trainings.

As far as I read Garmin is working on a new PhysioTrue Up Version. Maybe this will bringt this to sync.

  • So record the ride on my watch as opposed to my Edge 1040?  So my Edge 1040 is basically useless then lol.  I guess the Edge does have that "Extended Screen" feature.  I guess I can record the workout on my watch and broadcast the screen to my Edge 1040.

I hope they are working on it and give you and option on which workout to do.  Maybe I need to just start using Trainer Road or something.  The ease of the daily suggested workouts is really nice and easy though.  And since using them my VO2 max has increased.

  • you can still do the suggestions from the watch on your Edge 1040. Just do what the watch is suggesting, ride a certain amount of time at a certain power. If the suggestion is more complex you can recreate it as a workout. It doesn't take into account if you completed the suggested workout by clicking "do workout", or not. It doesn't monitor you on how well you are doing this workout either. It simply looks at your past activities, and your training status and suggests some activities on a daily basis. It is a lot simpler than you think.
