Course recalculation not giving a choice

Hi,

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong but my unit does not ask me how to re-join the course (I think it should give me 3 options), but just recalculates the new route.

To clarify:

Course Recalculation - Prompt only

Route Recalculation - Prompted

I will start the course saved courses, and then go off-course, a message appears "Off route. Recalculate?". I confirm and then it doesn't ask me anything, just recalculates automatically asking me to do u-turn or follow a new road. 

How can I fix this?

    Having been on cycle tour using my 1040 (Solar) daily for the last 5 weeks you are better off without route recalculation if you go off-course. It's a disaster. A lot of the time I just got "Route calculation error". But sometimes it would try and take me miles e.g. 1.5 miles from destination and 100 m off the course and it "recalculates to send me 5+ miles to destination.  Other times it would keep changing its mind "500 ft turn right" and you get there and it decides to send you back where you've just been.

    Went off course (accidentally) in Lelystad 5 miles from destination nd suddenly it decided ad 3645 miles to destination. It didn't even try to recalculate and only once my sense of direction got me back on course that it did a "Course found".

    The solar charging is great, battery life great but I should have got my 1030 screen repaired and taken that on tour with me!

    ps how long it offers the choices can be very variable, sometimes for ages, other times very briefly.
