Change workout data screen Edge 1040

I bought the Edge 1040 solar. The workout data screen is a little different than the edge 1030 that I have. It looks like you can change the bottom two data fields. Is there anyway to change the Step Distance data field? I could care less about step distance. I want to display Speed, Cadence and heart rate at the bottom 3 data fields on the workout screen.

No not possible, even with new 14.20 software. Garmin uses that field to show secondary target if present and when not they for some reason have chosen Step distance.

For me the workout screen is the least favorit part of the 1040. For instances why do they use so much screen space on avg power. I do not care about avg power in a structured interval. The purpose is to get as much time at the target power as possible. So if my power drops, due to a turn, traffic, then avg power drops off cause but then then you get back on target power. You do not try to pull avg power up by going above target power, because then you are missing the purpose of that structured interval.

Just create you own data screen for workouts

Hi,

on my 1040, the two lower data fields are empty. I can't change anything either. I've tried every possibility to change something. I have the latest Firmware. 14.20

Yes, even beta 14.50. But that was also the case with firmware 14.20.

Right, but it still doesn’t work so I’m hoping there is a status update from Garmin.
