Lock on road - not working in MTB profil

I did a planed MTB Course and "lock on Road" was disabled. But it was not working. I followed an bike way and the road was about 20 meter anway. The 1040 allways wants to pin me on the road, while i was on the bike way. This happed several times. On a junction my arrow followed the wrong street to the right, were i turned left. Aftrer a few seconds the route was corrected.

Can somebody confirm this behavoir ?

I can confirm this issue, frustrating as hell. I just updated to 14.20 but the problem is not fixed.

That makes absolutely no sense to me. Why would anybody want the display to indicate they are somewhere different than where they actually are?

I'm guessing it is a through back to the days when GPS accuracy was not as good as it is today and people were complaining that they were riding on a road, but the position on the map page showed that they were not on the road.

Very annoying. No course loaded, ForkSight turned off. Only one course set as "Always show". No nagivation going on.

When riding it's constantly jumping between actual position and road nearby on map.

it seems that in the road profile they solved the problem, so what I did was delete all the profile, and duplicate the road one, after I make all the changes for the MTB profile, the big one is the routing method, and now it works as expected.

I was able to reproduce what I think are seeing. I raised a ticket with Garmin on this.

What I was getting was a lock on course path even when off it.

On my 1040, this does not work. My device shows my position always on the nearest road, no matter, which profile I choose. It is behaving this way even when I'm 30 meters away from the nearest road. Really annoying! – One reason for buying the 1040 was the very precise geolocating of the device. So, just now, it's not worth the money.

Interessting , new Fenix7 firmware has a fix on this

A mí me pasa igual.

He llamado a Garmin y he creado un RMA, se lo he enviado, he estado 10 días sin el 1040, ellos lo han tenido 5 días laborables y me lo han devuelto diciéndome que está perfecto y que no han podido reproducir el fallo.

Al llegarme he creado un perfil MTB y me ha costado reproducir el fallo 15 segundos.

Es una vergüenza por parte de Garmin, un aparato que vale 600€ y que no se puede usar.

He hecho un vídeo para que puedan ver el fallo.
