History line color - custom colors not visible

On current beta - 14.14

Original and beta's have not had impact on history line color.  When mountain biking in particular, cannot tell what rode already vs course track.

Have tried all modifications to map - removing shading, contours, not using MTB theme, etc with no luck.

On previous models, I see discussions of XML mods or changing appearance from auto -> something else -> back to auto should work but they don't seem applicable here.

Any way to see what you've riden with a different visible color???

Thank you

  • Thank you but I've done that.

So, I decided to take some screen shots of my setup and what I am seeing.

As I look at the screenshots, I think the faint army green line (yellow and magenta combined??) is what I am supposed to see while I'm riding.....which is not possible.

    Is there a way to:

    1) Increase the thickness of this line so I can actually see where I've been in tight/close trails in the woods?

    2) Or change other settings to make this more visible?

    Thank you!

  • Also, I have no idea what all the other trail colors are indicating.  Like in the screenshot with "500 ft Trail" at top:

    1) What's the dark purple line next to my track?

    2) And the green thinner track next to the purple and by s32?

  • 1) Increase the thickness of this line so I can actually see where I've been in tight/close trails in the woods?

    You can’t change the thickness.

The recorded-track line is intentionally thinner so that it can’t hide the calculated-route line and the loaded-track line.

    1) What's the dark purple line next to my track?

The magenta line with black borders is the track from the course file.

The all-magenta line (light in the middle; dark on the edges) is the calculated-route. It’s a bit wider than the file-track line. This is displayed when “turn guidance” is enabled. (“Turn guidance” is where the big white arrows come from.)

Typically, the calculated-route line follows the file-track line fairly closely. If they separate, it’s usually an indication that the map used to plan the route is different from the map installed on the Edge device. Separations can also result when you are using an activity (recorded ride) for navigation.

    2) And the green thinner track next to the purple and by s32?

This could be a course that is set to "always" display with green as the color you chose to use.

  • OK - thank you for reviewing and feedback.

Hopefully I can find some combination of colors/settings that allow me to see where I've been when in the woods.....

  • Did you ever get a better display?

This still drives me nuts.  I just don't understand why there can't be an option to make your history line thicker and actually visible. It seems so simple....

When mountain biking it's impossible to tell the old/new route when crossing back over the previous part of the course.
