Smart trainer (wahoo kickr core) switches from power control (erg mode) to trainer resistance (level mode) after pausing (for around 1 minute) and then resuming a ride on the Garmin edge 1040

The trainer is connected as a smart trainer sensor on the edge 1040 (connected via ant+).

The ride is started on the edge unit from the indoor activity profile (using "set power" which I assume is erg mode).

How I noticed this problem is that sometime I need a break and stop the ride and when I come back and resume the ride, the power target is gone and it's replaced by trainer resistance.

I have a TACX VORTEX SMART T2180, and when I do a workout With the Edge 1040 connected the resistance is very strange, super stuck, and without realism, that's right I have zwift connected too, if I start the workout with just zwift and edge 1040 off resistance is good.
With my old Edge 820 it didn't happen.

I assume you migrated your settings from the 820 to the 1040.

Perform a complete reset and manually install the smart trainer sensor.

That is what worked for me

Same problem with edge 1030. I have noticed this bug years ago.
