Ebike Smart Range

Does anyone knoe if its possible to switch off or configure Ebike Smart Range?

It was introduced with beta 14:12 and this week I had my first ride following a course using a Shimino Steps E-MTB (EP8 motor).
When I started off there was no problem but anytime I went off course to explore new trails the 1040 would recalculate and I woud get the warning notice that the course exceeds the battery range (something along those lines). This was repaeated twice every time and you have to mannually cancel it. I tried pausing the route instead of recalulating but the same thing happened when I re-joined the original course.

It's great that Garmin are adding new functions but not everyone wants or needs them and they are usually added without any instructions or anyway to configure them.

I'm now using beta 14.14

Now using 14.20 and the problem is the same

  • I have now ordered yesterday.

The last message unsettles me now again. I hope that the problem has now been fixed after 11 months. There was enough time to fix the problem.

If this should not be the case, however, I also no longer have much hope for a bug fix and would also send the device back.

With this problem, the device is too expensive.

A changelog or response from Former Member itself would be helpful.

    Thank you in advance.

  • @chrome what software version is your Edge on? if you are on 17.29, can you please try removing your ebike as a sensor and re-pairing it?

  • Former MemberAs already written I asked if the error has since been fixed to make a purchase decision. Please read the last 4 posts.

The error occurs in conjunction with the Specialized Levo with the TCU 2.0, as the bike permanently sends 1 km remaining range, as this value is not calculated by the bike.

Has the problem been fixed in the meantime by a software update? The problem seems to still exist for Pat Fulghum.

    Thank you very much.

  • Removed and re-paired

Removed and re-paired again and again

    No solution

Every time the Edge has to recalculate the course (missed deviation, lost signal in the woods, …) that message appears on the display occupying at least a 30% of it and hiding the map, the other info about speed, etc etc No way to remove the message without properly touching the display. No way
