Bad idea. I'd like to know if there are beta's and then decide if I want to install the beta. In the new setup, the beta is pushed to your device, even if you don't want it.
Prior to the device enrollment being offered to Edge 1040 users, if you wanted to see if there was an available beta you had to look in the forum…or you could also look at Garmin’s beta update page by googling “Garmin edge 1040 software beta.” The top hit will take you directly to the newest beta, where you can manually download the update file and then you manually move it onto your Edge for install. If you are concerned about being pushed software that you don’t want, don’t enroll your Edge.
