Auto Lap by Position - “Mark Position” does not work

Hi,
I was searching today on my E1040 for an option that would allow me to activate auto lap trigger for a start and end of some hills in my neighbourhood I often ride, without remembering to press the lap button each time I pass them. I was hoping that the Auto Lap by Position > Mark and Lap will do the trick but found out that “Mark Position” option does not work. Is it another bug in the software or it is just on my device? Can anyone test and provide a feedback? Thanks

    I've not tried it on the 1040, but the mark position will only work during that specific activity. So the activity timer needs to be running, then you can mark the location with a lap button press. The location is only active for the duration of that activity.

    Thanks for your reply, aweatherall. In the meantime I checked the user manual and realized that it will not work for what I was hoping it will. With mark position you may mark only one spot, before starting an activity (not during), and than when you start and pass that position it will register a lap. So very specific use case, probably for some racers only.

    Anyway the bug issue remains. I tested on my 830 and it works fine. When I tap Mark Position there is a popup message asking for a confirmation but this popup is not showing up on 1040 to confirm the marking.

    I think, you should create a Segment in the App you use to analyze the data.

    Edit:
    I read the manual. You can create lap points on the go in running activities with the lap button, you can auto lap at your start point and on every position you push the lap button while tracking an activity or you can save a lap point before you start and also mark additional points with the lap button.

    I'm having the same issue with the E1040. Auto Lap by position (pressing the lap button) does not work. The first lap works but when passing the same point the auto lap is not triggered. I'm assuming this is a bug?
