Freeze when you load a route from GPX, TCX file !

Hello,

 

I encounter a serious problem when I load a route from a GPX, TCX file.

The device completely crashes and the screen becomes unresponsive!

No matter how many times I turn the device on and then off it does this every time the route is loaded.

Other people in my cyclo club with the same device also have this bug. However, we have made the latest 12.16 update.

It is totally unacceptable for Garmin to market devices at 600 euros which are not reliable when they come out. I went back to my good old 1030
which also randomly loses all the sensors on each outing (speed, Di2, cadence, Cardio) yet I no longer use the extra ICQ file.
Too bad that HAMMERHEAD is no longer compatible with Shimanon for the moment and that the autonomy of the KAROO2 is so low otherwise
I would have left Garmin a long time ago.

    I have reported this problem some time ago when I wanted to "Race an Activity". I was concerned it was because my previous activity (race) was too long, but have not had the time yet to test whether there is a specific section that causes the crash.

    Let us see if we can help Garmin and analyse the root cause. This will help to get it repaired sooner.

    If there is an Garmin\Debug\Err_log.txt file on the unit that might help indicate the issue.

    Also if you are willing to share the GPX/TCX files that might help.

    can you share the GPX with us? Maybe the GPX is corrupt or so?

    ...and there are some extras like random freeze when Just swiping left or right, freeze when the ride is paused and i turn the device into sleep mode, freeze when i try to add a navigation destination during ride. Im not surprised that you are angry,,,

    I totally agree. Took a 40 minute ride by car to ride, and when I was about to start the device freezed. Tried to restart several times with the same result. What I had done immediately before was to hit “always visible” to a route downloaded trough Strava several weeks ago. Maybe the same error as you?  Had to drive home, the device still freezed when I tried it. Drove back with my 1030 and had a good trip, but thanks to Garmin wasted 1,5 hour and getting a pissed wife. 

    Tried the device after it had rested 4-5 hours, and now it works as it should again  and the route I tried to make always visible is there  

    if that isn’t enough I have tried to report a EP8 / AXS problem for a month. Now other users are experiencing the same as me, making the device already useless on my Orbea Rise. 

    have been using Garmin for more than twenty years, but this is the worst ever!

    I confirm, severals bugs it worse from Garmin !

    I'm very angry.

    When i buy an iPhone all options works perfectly.

    I hope that the future update resolv the problem.
