Edge remote control with campagnolo EPS

Does anyone have success in connecting the edge remote control of the campa EPS?

on my edge 1030 with EPS V3 the remote control sensor is found. Edge 1040 does not find it.

I Have disconnected the 1030 from the EPS as per campagnolo advice (power off/on 5x button right followed by 5x button left) after this procedure the 1030 is again offering me the  remote control for connection. 1040 does not find it at all.
