IS there any quick way to access IQ apps?

I'm puzzled why they've stopped the generally useful widgets.

Stuff that was widget based is now moving to apps - which means home-menu-connect IQ-select app to use. Is there a quicker way to access these?

If not this is a really bad design change

Cheers

  • Actually, it’s worse. You can’t access apps with the device recording a track.

so in the case of weather radar, you can only use it before setting out of when you’ve stopped and saved.

    what use is that?

removing widgets has crippled a whole bunch of useful functionality

I just noticed this today when storm clouds rolled in.  I wanted to check the radar image app that I'd subscribed to, only to be told I can't do so without stopping my ride.  If apps aren't going to be opened up with a ride in progress, I can't wrap my head around why they'd do away with widgets for that type of tool.

  • Speaking to a developer they think there's a bug in CIQ on this unit.

There is more than one bug report out for it.

I've known some buggy Garmin launches but this is a cracker.

  • It's the same with the Rain app: It installs, but as an IQ app which makes it useless on the road.

This has to be a bug
