Great service from Garmin

Was unlucky enough to put loads of cracks in my brand new 1040 (non-solar) screen buy having a low speed crash.   Device still works if you can put up with glass shards in fingers.

Anyway, freaked out, contacted Garmin and they were at first at a loss as the Edge 1040 is so new and repair/replacement costs hadn't been sorted.  Got back to me about 6 hours later and offered a 'new in box' replacement for about  1/5th the RRP.   Have to wait to mid-August due to no stock, but fine with that.

So even with the software issues (I've had the big elevation loss if you pause your ride), the support for a damaged unit is great.  Makes me a bit happier I stuck with the brand.
