Returning to home screen on Garmin 1040

Maybe a stupid question but I cannot figure out how to go back to the main screen or home screen on the Garmin Edge 1040. I need to turn off the device to go back to the main/home screen (screen with messages, weather, navigation, compas etc). Is this the only way or am I missing something? Thanks for the help.

Tap the screen and it will bring up the home page overlay.

At the bottom of the overlay you will see a home/house icon.

You need to swipe up from the middle of the screen to go back to the home screen.

Worth noting: on Garmin wearables, the "lap key" can be disabled such that tapping it brings the user back to the home page. It's a bit mystifying why there's a UI/UX difference between the watches and bike computers. Certainly confused me as a watch user trying to learn the Edge.
