Edge 1040 Not powering on

I came to use my new Garmin the other day to find it completely flat, odd that the last time I used it & powered off it had >60% charge. Having since charged (which seems to take an absolute age), I’ve done a ride, powered off & the unit won’t now turn on? I’ve tried powering it via the wall & again nothing. It’s got a power symbol on the screen, but won’t do anything else. Has anyone else has this issue?

    Try with diff cable , power charger

    You could try one of the following and see it changes the situation.

    Hard power down - hold the power button for 10 seconds or more

    Force into mass storage mode - with the unit powered off hold down the lap button and connect the cable from the PC to the Edge. Keep holding the lap button down until the unit reports that it is USB mode. This could 30 to 40 seconds.

    Full reset - with the unit powered off press and hold both the lap and start buttons. Then press the power button and release it. Keep holding the other 2 buttons for around 10 seconds and then release them. This will wipe all you settings so is last resort.

    After a ride yesterday,  I left my Garmin 1040 Solar unplugged over night.  It had over 80% battery life remaining.  This morning I tried uploading a course and the unit will not power up.  The screen is blank and the unit unresponsive.

    Since installing version 12.16 I have noticed that my 1040 doesn't always power off correctly and I have to perform a Hard Power Down.  Is it possible that this is what is draining your battery?

    I plugged mine into the wall & it eventually turned back on, I noticed that sometimes it doesn’t power off completely but has a power symbol on the screen?

    ive not had the issue since, but do keep an eye on the power levels checking it occasionally & ensure it’s fully off.

    Mine as well, so thought that it was drained but no, connected to the charger and it has around 47% remaining. After connecting the gps boots now ok but not sure if next time will do the same

    Same issue here. Edge solar is draining completely when not in use. Even when it is completely shut down. You already have found a solution for it?

    I have found the same issue and have to do a hard power off to get it to work. It then turns on with plenty of battery.

    Anch'io lo stesso problema rimane il simbolo di accensione sullo schermo e non si spegne, la prima volta mi ha ingannato e come l'utente sopra il giorno successivo non ha più acceso la batteria scarica, oggi ho controllato e visto che ha fatto lo stesso, questa volta ha forzato lo spegnimento tenendo premuto il pulsante per spegnerlo
