Sideload Garmin IQ Plugins from 1030+

I have a 1030+ and now a 1040. Some Garmin IQ plugins than I need (like Tyerwiz), are not available for the 1040. The developer does not reply to my messages after weeks, and SRAM tells me "thank you for your message", because I understand it is a plugin developed by a 3rd party ¿?¿

Since the screens are the same size, is it possible to get past these few IQ plugins that aren't on the 1040?
I really need the TyreWiz compatibility. The others could wait. Thanks.

You can try the following:

Connect your Edge 1030+ to your PC/Mac and open it as drive.
Goto directory \Garmin\Apps\Media
There you'll find some files *.PRG
TyreWiz is one of them; it is of 17,088 bytes size and if you look inside with a fileviewer you can read "pressure" and also "tyrewiz" is written somewhere.
Copy this PRG file to your PC/Mac harddrive.
Now change to directory \Garmin\Apps\Settings and look if there is a SET file with the same name of the PRG file. If so, copy it to your harddrive.

Now connect your Edge 1040 as drive and copy the file(s) to the directories mentioned before.

With most datafields this is a way of workaround...

Just to clarify. The file(s), I copy it in the same routes and not in "NewFiles" folder, like other settings, profiles, tracks, etc... correct?

Yes, directly into the origin folders - not NewFiles!

Doesn't work with TyreWiz... I had a look at CIQ_LOG and it gives an error about signature check.failed

This is unlikely to work.

The IQ file has to be built to support the particular device. Every device is different.

Garmin does have a way of adding support for new devices using old devices in the IQ file but that is some sort of Garmin "magic". I have no idea how/when Garmin chooses to add this support.

When the 1030 PLUS model came out, and the data fields were not yet customized, I did this with some Edge 1030 IQ data fields, and it worked.

The 1030+ is very similar to the 1030 (especially, when it was released).

It has worked for some plugins... ;)
But it just doesn't work with TyreWiz :(
