Edge 1040 Mounts

Quick question. I suppose I could just wait until I get home a little later and see for myself, as I completed the setup, sync, updates, and courses transfer from my Edge 1000 to my new 1040. But I might as well ask now. Does the Edge 1040 install on the same stem/handlebar/out-front mounts as my 1000 or do I have to change the mounts on all my bikes?

    Same quarter turn mount.

    I'm using the same mount I've used since my 1000.

    Great that's what I was hoping. lol Less work for me! Heading home now and will go on a late afternoon ride in a few minutes, and I will be testing the 1040. I can't say too much yet, but I can say that the transfer of information, sensors, courses, and even the actual profiles was seamless and almost perfect. A couple of things I am going to have to do manually in one or two of my profiles, but literally the tiniest fraction of what I thought I was going to have to do to set up my 1040. I was actually blown away when the thing started asking me if I wanted to transfer all my sensors, phone, and screens and so forth, and it pretty much did everything by itself. We'll see what a ride is like, and I will load a course or two just to try out the navigation and stuff as well, and I want to see if all my sensors actually did sync as the device said they did.

    If you had any starva segments and used the screen you just need to remember to change the time to go and distance to go fields. There is another thread on that. Also if you have a Varia it’s best to delete that sensor and just add it again.  Other than that as you say the copy across of everything is really good and easy.  Enjoy and look at the clarity of the screen (new font) and the fantastic battery life (2 weeks in and I’m still impressed). Oh and the speed of starting, GPS lock, sensor connection and navigation loading - well I’ll leave you to see that Slight smile
