I have connected the Garmin Varia 515 to the Garmin 1040 solar. When I disable the sensor, the radar icon in the corner continues to flash.
Is there any way to get rid of this when not using the radar?

Same problem. UGH. Have to do a full power off (long power button press) when I ride my mtb (which I dont use the varia on) or the radar icon flashes red the whole dang ride.
Like others I found that I have to power cycle the device to force it to update what it thinks are actual live sensors. IMO this is actually a dangerous bug, or rather, a bug with the potential to be dangerous…
I've seen people forget where they put their eyeglasses while wearing them. Nothing surprises me when it comes to what users are capable of.
Same here. Current “fix” as others posted seems to be a full shutdown/ restart. Luckily for me I don’t really use it in the summer (yes it is a bit weird to not get the notifications), as I don’t have a Mount on the summer bike. I only turned on the radar / light to make sure it was working.
I also had the issues that the radar sensor profile transferred but the light profile was all messed up. The whole light network didn’t really work. I have the UT800 also. I basically deleted both light and radar sensors and added back. Then I noticed the above issue!

I can imagine someone seeing the indicator and assuming their radar is working and that there are no cars coming, but then be surprised by a car. Yes --- riders should always be aware but we all gradually grow accustomed to relying on our sensor arrays when they work well.
Oh come on. This is about the fact that when you don’t have the radar attached it doesn’t fully “disconnect”. Are you seriously telling me you think people would “forget” they hadn’t attached it and then not wonder why nothing comes up. Doesn’t sound like someone who’s used a radar as I can assure you I’d no very quickly if it was there.

How has this still not been fixed. I even tested it and started and activity to see if the blinking radar icon disappears after sensor inactivity like all other sensors behave. Continued blinking for 10min+.
I already submitted this to Garmin engineers but urge others to do the same please!!!
This is an annoying bug I am assuming.
