Bug: Shimano Steps and Eagle AXS at the same time

Migrated from Edge 1030 - bike with Shimano EP8 and Eagle AXS X01.

The device finds both sensors, but when connected to EP8 trough Steps, the gear indicator from AXS is cleared from the display but the connection is still live. Turning off Steps brings the indicator to life again on the screen

Taking the bike out for a spin with both sensors active and the EP8 is working as it should, the device keeps track of which gear AXS is in, but shows nothing on the display. There is an audible sound when you go into 1st or 12th gear (as it should).

Saving the ride and checking the AXS app shows that the device has tracked the right gears all the way, but they are not registred with the number of cogs (52-10), but just 1-12.

The latest firmware 12.15 is now installed - didn't help - same bug

Have tried to get some attention from Garmin trough the local country organisation, and they don’t impress me to be honest.

BTW. The configuration of cogs on the AXS profile (on web page) can be edited and chosen from a list. All standard configurations are available and even manual setup.

I’m well aware of this, but I’m describing a bug where AXS an EP8 doesn’t coexists. When I turn off EP8 everything is ok, turn on EP8 and the AXS data on the display is nulled as if not connected even if it is. This works splendid on 1030

I tried to report this as a bug to Garmin over a month ago, and it has been troublesome even to get them to receive the bug report. Always asking for more information, and the same information again and again. Last week finally I got the bug report trough the domestic Garmin office, and what the status is now I relly don't know. In the meantime this problem will escalate as more and more EP8 users with AXS will buy the 1040. Fun to know that Garmin has been aware, doing nothing for so long time?

So finally got it tested with 12.16, same bug as before. This is functionality that works perfectly on the 1030. Not a clue if my bug-report has made it to development or not even if I have taken it trough the proper channels. In the meantime I see more and more people experience this bug as the deployment of 1040 is spreading.

Shimano Steps and SRAM AXS is a pretty common plattform on high-end electric trail-bikes as di2 from is Shimano is not a real contender in this market even if they now have released their first 12 spd di2 directly connected to the EP8, but that configuration has yet absolutely no momentum in the market.

Always the same problem even with the beta 14.13 that makes Garmin sleep
