Bug in Map view

Hi,

there is a bug where in the map screen that even selecting to not follow the road, when I'm near a road like 10m away following a single track for example, the 'past' gps trace is traced where I was, but the actual trace...the 'blue triangle'....is traced to the road, like it is attracted by the road it self producing an oddity in the screen, with a straight line from my past position to the actual.

Please solve it.

Does your Routing setting have the snap to road feature enabled.

Activity Profiles -> name of profile -> Navigation -> Routing -> Lock on road

It's unchecked, so without lock on road.

Next time you observe this could you take a screen capture, press the lap button to mark the location in the activity file and then provide the screen capture and activity file to Garmin Support.

Alternatively I'm willing to take look if you private message them to me.

I have the same bug on my 1040 as well as a possibly related one where the 'past' trace seems to have a max length. Towards the end of a 100km ride as I'm returning to my start point, the blue line trace won't be showing and instead will have the [play] icon somewhere 20km or so along my route.
