Connect IQ Store has become a chore to search

Now that I have a new cyclometer I'm adding some ConnectIQ apps.  I recall this being WAY easier back in the day.

If I launch from Garmin Express I get all the stuff compatible with the Edge 1040 with some caveats:

1.) Once I search for an app, it brings up all results not compatible with my device.

2.) I can't filter by anything...the only option is "all app types"

3.) Garmin Express shows all sorts of Garmin apps not installed on my device.  Is this because they were in my account from my older Edge 830?  I don't understand if they're no installed on the 1040 because that functionality now exists by default or if they were meant for the 1040 and Garmin leaves it to us to pick and choose.  The app type is "Built in Glance" but they show as not installed.  these include:

Power, Training Status, Cycling Ability, VO2 Max, Training Load, Load Focus, Recover Time, Location Search, Sunrise/Sunset.   Are these meant for us to install on the 1040?

Really the big thing here is, how do you search Connect IQ store these days without the ability to filter by app type, or device compatibility?

The Connect IQ store still only allows to search "ALL" app types for the Edge 1040.  Anyone heard if there are plans to update this now that Garmin is adding IQ glance support for the 1040?

Also, the Connect IQ store built into the 1040 is pretty limited.  It only allows to view "recommended" apps which lists like 7 total.  I thought this would get rid of the need for browsing on the phone or PC.  That would be great. Perhaps it's a memory or performance limitation for listing all the many 3rd party apps.  I just expected more when I saw "IQ Store" on the device.

Are there any plans to fix this?  If I use Garmin Express on windows to search apps on the connectIQ web, this seems to filter by the 1040 compatible apps.  The problem is, it's missing a TON of results.  I can search for the 'XERT' apps and there are probably 10 or so results.  They are all compatible with the 1040.  But they are not anywhere in the results when Garmin Express opens the 1040 compatible apps.

The web UI for apps.garmin.com has no way of filtering by device type that I can find.  And anymore, not by app type either when browsing the 1040 apps, which is already missing results.

Simply listing all apps in existence and flipping through pages is way too much to sort through.
