Unable to install some apps

I have the solar version and I’m unable to install AccuWeather Minutecast, OWM Weather or Rain. I’ve emailed the developer of Rain and he says it’s down to Garmin not him which makes sense. I’m able to install Komoot and Find My Car just fine. 

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem and if so is there a fix? 

I’m aware of the data field bug which is rather annoying and hopefully it gets fixed soon.

    Does the app show in the store for the 1040? The developer needs to compile the app with the 1040 as a target.

    Apologise I forgot to add that bit. Yes the app is listed as compatible with 1040/1040 Solar. 

    when I press install it starts the process for roughly 30 seconds then the install button appears again.

    I am seeing the same thing.  However, it's listed as a widget.  It's my understanding that the 1040 series has CIQ 4 which has dropped widget support.  Although, Garmin's widgets are still on the device and work.

    The Garmin ones I tried worked perfectly so I can only assume something has not been passed on to developers. Yesterday I could of easily sent it back for a refund as it was a bugger to set up, but today on a short commute it worked ok and gained 12 minutes of ride time on a 40 minute commute from solar charging.

    I was able to install AccuWeather and access it by using Garmin Express rather than the phone.

    I have the exact same problem. Minutecast is shown in the App Store (even as recommended) but does not install on the edge 1040, neither from within the device's app store nor from the smartphone app store. It is running as a widget on all my other garmin devices esp. the edge 1000.

    There are plenty of IQ apps, not yet available for the 1040. Since the screen dimensions are the same of the 1030, why can't we just install the 1030 version and have to wait for the developer to compile a specific 1040 version. Once you are used to something, it's hard to do without!

    I tried this and it never worked. I've not tried with the recent beta update, might give it a try when i get home.

    I have the same issue.  I go to the store, select accuweather app, hit install--previously the install button just kept showing, now it goes away and i get the message that the app will load on my device next time i sync.  But it does not.

    This is apparently a bug in Connect IQ according to developers. Glances and widgets still happen in CIQ4 but are implemented differently - but the same behaviour is apparently not seen on the Edge 1040 as is other devices running it.

    Rain, Weather Radar have been confined to IQ apps which are useless on the go as they cannot run with a track being recorded
